Head-Maarek backing Enable for historic third Arc win

Famous French trainer Criquette Head-Maarek will probably be cheering Enable on in her bid to win the Qatar Prix de lArc de Triomphe for a third time.
Head-Maarek saddled the mighty Treve to raise Europes premier all-aged middle-distance race at 2013 and 2014.
Treve fell short in her quest for an unparalleled hat-trick when fourth to Golden Horn at 2015, but Head believes Enable is the right horse to complete the task.
I hope she wins and I will be present to see it – I think she is an amazing horse, and she recalls everything, said Head-Maarek, who wed in February 2018 after a highly-successful career spanning almost 40 years that included an earlier Arc success with Three Troikas in 1979.
If she defeats Treves record, I will be very pleased.
Treve was defeated by Golden Horn, however, it wasnt anything to be embarrassed of. Its very tough for a horse to win three times to the Arc, although Obviously that you need to win.
it is my hope that this year Empower are going to be able to execute it.
Head, already filled with admiration for John Gosdens superstar, included:Shes done things Treve never did.
Shes travelled all around the world. She won the Breeders Cup after the Arc America and that was something no one had done before.
Then she has won the King George twice. For me, she is the very best horse I have seen in years and years.
John is a fantastic coach, and Frankie Dettori is a wonderful jockey, therefore whats there.
I trained for her proprietor Prince Khalid from 1979 until I retired. Hes the ideal customer I have known.
Hes a charming man and hes really simple to manage. He wants to win race .
You like it once you see that sort of creature running. You go hurrying to see the ones, not the claimers or even the disability horse and the decent ones.
Racing is excellent for this, and it will be a fantastic afternoon on Sunday.
Head-Maarek has looked to the favourite through the field in search of possible dangers, but cannot see any horse.
I think that the most important danger for me with all the French horses could be the (Prix du) Jockey Club winner Sottsass, however we do not know precisely his values, she explained.
I dont believe the Niel was a good race, so quality wise. You need to conquer horses than that to win the Arc.
Andre Fabre has a big lawn, and his sole runner is Waldgeist. He is incredibly consistent and a good horse. He hasnt got Enables course, however he could be in the initial four or five. Andre knows what to do to really have a horse ready at the perfect time.
There is, as ever a powerful challenge that is international, obviously.
You have (Aidan) OBriens horses, she said.
Magical is a good filly, and Japan is a good horse – but saying that, I believe that the filly (Enable) is far better than people on what I have seen.
The Japanese horses, we do not understand them really well.
Everyone will be on the lookout for her to acquire. A record has to be defeated. Two wins is 1 thing, but 3 is better.
Only fillies can do it, because if colts win the Arc two times, they visit stud – therefore theres absolutely not any way.
You have got the ideal horse to do it this season. For me, shes the best of the field.
Enable will race out of stall nine of these 12 runners, however, Head-Maarek considers the draw is irrelevant – especially to a horse of the ability.
I won the Arc with a horse attracted in 22. At the distance, 2400 metres, the draw does not mean anything, she explained.
Shes really able of waiting, capable to go ahead and is now still capable of accomplishing lots of things. She does not need anybody.
Frankie is so great. He understands Longchamp like his pocket. If she goes ahead, nobody will see .
She is that kind of horse – you can do anything with. Shes really easy.
