The Hundred… you have probably heard it said a lot lately, but do you know what its all about?
Here is everything you want to know about next summers new competition here.
It is all very simple. Its a competition in which eight newly formed teams compete against each other. Each team has both a mens and womens sideeffects.
The arrangement of games? That is simple 100 balls per group, most runs wins.
In an effort to attract more families to the sport, the contest is going to be played at the summer holidays – from 17 to 16 August, 2020. Teams may play each other when, besides their pairedcompetitions, whom they satisfy twice (home and away). Therell be 32 league matches in total, together with the top few finishers competing in the Finals Day (top group automatically reaches the closing, with second versus third for another spot in the closing ).
The paired competitions (play each other twice) are: Leeds and Manchester, the two London teams, both Birmingham and Nottingham and Southampton and Cardiff.
We are going to understand that shortly.
The mens groups will select at their players using a draft system.
On teams will be able to select up to three players for their own group. They have the choice of picking at least one England red-ball contracted teams and player with one or more England Test players within their catchment area will be able to pick their preferred player. Its not mandatory for groups to select a player out of their catchment area.
The remaining red-ball contracted teams will select gamers without a player in their catchment area until each side has the chance of choosing one England Test player.
Players not selected will be allocated to their community team. Teams have the choice to negotiate together and choose two neighborhoodicon players from.
Due to limited availability for the England players – they are only expected in Finals Day and to play with three team games – they are also to each teams final squad of 15 and are paid individually.
The initial selection process – the outcomes of which will be revealed at 13:00 BST – should be interesting. Will, by Way of Example, the team choose Jonny Bairstow Ben Stokes or even Joe Root?
And will the Manchester team, who play at Old Trafford in which there is an end choose Jos Buttler or the mythical England fast bowler?
And Southampton will need to take benefit of getting Jofra Archer as their first choice.
On 20 Octoberthe rest of the places in the 15-man squads will soon be filled by means of a draft – West Indies batsman Chris Gayle, Englands Eoin Morgan along with the Steve Smith of Australia have made themselves available for the tournament.
There are just seven set salary bands, with as much as two players to be picked at every one of the following: # 75,000, # 100,000, # 125,000, # 60,000, # 50,000, # 40,000 and # 30,000. Captains will be given a bonus of #10,000.
Players are able to pick a salary band when that reserve price is not met they wont be selected during the main draft, although at which they are prepared to play .
A pre-draft draw will decide on the sequence in which each group will pick at their players. Teams will have the ability to select a maximum of three foreign players but theres no limitation to the number of players out of any given county or nation.
Each one the planets most important names – with the exception of India internationals that were current – are expected to make them available so brace yourself forJofra Archer versus Steve Smith: Part Two.
Adhering to the draft, each team will have the opportunity for a finalwildcard pick, to be selected through the T20 Blast of next year. A 30,000 contract will be received by that participant.
The girlss draft is a bit more different. In the very first phase, teams are expected to sign two players from the 21 who are contracted to England.
Stage 2 of the player selection process (1 October 2019 – 30 May 2020) will then find every team fill the rest 13 spaces within their squad from around three distinct player pools: the remaining England centrally contracted players, both global players and national players.
Teams may sign one additional England centrally contracted participant during phase two and can sign a max of three players.
The seven salary mounts of the women are: # 6,000, # 12,000, # 9,000, # 7,200, # 15,000, # 4,800 and 3,600. A # 1,200 bonus will be received by the captains.
A tournaments attractiveness is going to be that everyone will have to work out strategies.
The 100 balls can be bowled in blocks of five or more 10 from bowlers, that have the option of switching finishes halfway.
The amount is 20, with each fielding team allowed a 150-second timeout that is tactical.
Oh, and there will be a powerplay for the first 25 balls, where just two fielders will be permitted outside the circle.
The games themselves should be furiously and quickly thrilling – in trial matches past summer, held, innings took over a hour to complete.
And just the upcoming innings will play after – therell be no 40-minute periods for lunch!
On the BBC.
To kick off a huge 12 months of cricket across BBC TV, radio and internet, the BBC Sport site will likely probably soon be conducting a text around the announcement of their England players draft on 3.
Then, on 20 October, the BBC Sport site will host text commentary and a live flow .
Next summerthe BBC will have live tv coverage of 2 England mens international T20 matches, just one England womens T20 international, and live TV coverage of 10 mens games from Your Hundred and up to eight live matches in the womens Hundred tournament, including both finals.
It amounts to – appropriately – 100 hours back on BBC tv, also including highlights of Englands international games each evening.
How much do you know more about the gorgeous game?
