Force is with Flamengo as River Plate stunned in Copa Libertadores final
Rafael Santos Borre aim looked to have secured River a Copa Libertadores name but Gabriel Barbosa had some other ideas.
Barbosa complete on 87 minutes soon after the 23-year-old striker pounced to lash the ball and attracted on Flamengo degree.
Barbosa then proceeded to get himself sent off after picking up another yellow for sarcastically applauding referee Roberto Tobar that was Chilean.
River Plate ended the match with 10 men as Exequiel Palacios was red carded for kicking Bruno Henrique while the Flamengo player was on the floor in the chaotic final minutes of the game.
Flamengos only previous Copa Libertadores victory came in 1981.

Before the beginning of the match Barbosa had touched the Copa Libertadores trophy, prompting a few on social media to joke the Flamengo striker had jinxed his group. One of the superstitions in football is that you shouldnt ever touch a trophy prior to a closing.
But Barbosa had the last word with his attention for a target.

Social unrest in the Chilean capital of Santiago had compelled the closing to be transferred because of the violence which has gripped Chile to Lima.
This past year, nationwide and River Boca Juniors and with the second leg of their closing played at Madrid, Spain. River lovers had attacked the bus taking the Boca squad.
This years final was the first to be settled in one match.
Copa champions were decided getting the chance to play in front of their home fans. Before that — by the inception in 1960 of the tournament — thirds were contested three matches.

Flamengos Copa Libertadores victory signifies the side will currently take part in the Club World Cup — staged Qatar — even December.
Flamengo subsequently went on to conquer Liverpool 3-0 in the Intercontinental Cup final after winning the Copa Libertadores in 1981.
Liverpool, who beat Tottenham to win the Champions League in June, will take part in this years Club World Cup.
