Boston Red Sox at Colorado Rockies MLB Pick – August 27th
The Colorado Rockies showed an unusual glimpse of a heart last night as they found a way to eliminate the Atlanta Braves. The match had called. The match complete was runs, so I was quite shocked, as soon as the game hit on the ninth inning that a game. The Braves managed in the ninth to tie the match up, and it looked as though the Rockies went to locate a means to lose their fifth game.
But Ryan McMahon smashed a line drive and walked off the game for the Rockies. While the triumph is not likely to do much for its Rockies playoff opportunities, they are still eleven games back of the 2nd wild card in the National League, it was a fine win to the fans that have needed to watch that group underachieve all year.
For Atlanta, it had been their first loss in nine games, and as they had to travel all the way from New York City where they had played with the Mets daily ahead to Colorado, it was likely to be a tough place. They are forced to head all of the way back to the East Coast tonight and play the Toronto Blue Jays to make things worse for the Braves. If that is not a savage travel schedule, I really don’t know what is! For the bet of today we will stay right here in Denver as the host the World Series Champion, Boston Red Sox.
Because they are in Colorado to confront the Rockies for game one of a fast set, the Boston Red Sox continue their West Coast road trip tonight. As they took two out of three matches from the San Diego 27, the Red Sox took care of business. Boston got the day off to travel yesterday and needs to be rested as they hit on Colorado.
The Rockies found a way to beat a Braves staff and will look to make it two straight wins tonight. But for Colorado, this team is simply a shell of its former self as they’ve lost players to harm recently including German Marquez, Kyle Freeland, Jon Gray, Scott Oberg, David Dahl, also Raimel Tapia.
Starting for the Rockies is Rico Garcia (0-0 0.00 ERA) making his major league debut, and also for the Red Sox it’s former Cy Young award winner Rick Porcello (11-10 5.49 ERA). The game complete over-under is set at thirteen and a half conducts. The Red Sox are -129 street favorites. First pitch is scheduled for 5:40 PM PST from Coors Field in Colorado.
Rico Garcia will make his MLB debut tonightand not because he is ready to be in the big leagues. Garcia was called up they need someone to eat innings up and because the rest of this rotation is in shambles. Garcia had outcomes and began his season out. He was 8-2 with a 1.85 ERA at double-A and was immediately promoted to triple-A Albuquerque.
But that is when he started to struggle against the higher competition. In twelve begins in triple-A, he had an ERA of over seven runs, and he has blasted for thirteen home runs in just over fifty-five innings pitched. He really struggled with his control as he had walks. ?? Those results don’t bode well for him tonight because he must face one and at Coors Field no longer, where chunks never appear to stay in the park. I would be shocked in the Red Sox do not find a way to strike tonight to at least one ball from the park against Garcia.
Rick Porcello doesn’t look a lot like the guy that won the Cy Young Award. However he’s been a back of the spinning innings eater for the Red Sox this year, despite his inconsistent outcomes, they appear to win when he takes the mound. Boston includes a 15-8 list when Porcello pitches after losing his first three starts of this year.
And lately, he’s actually pitched somewhat better because his ERA in August is 4.09, which is much better than it was in June and July where his ERA was seven runs. Porcello is averaging over seven runs a game of run support, that is amongst the greatest of any qualified newcomer in the sport.
The Red Sox have scored two runs or more on the mound eleven occasions this season with Porcello. He had five consecutive starts earlier this summer in which Boston scored him twice digits of aid. It is tough to lose when your team goes out and scores you per match runs.
This really is a mismatch. Even the Rockies, despite finding a way last night to knock off the Braves, are not currently playing good baseball right now. They can’t score runs now with many of their players on the IL even though they play in Coors Field. We found that yesterday when they could muster 1 run.
Porcello shutting right down the Rockies isn’t seen by me, because let’s be honest, the man does not shut anybody down. However, I think a matchup between also a guy and a Cy Young award winner making concealed MLB introduction, that couldn’t get anyone out from the minors, is certainly a mismatch.
I am shocked to find this amount as a one. -129 is a quantity. I glanced at the line, and it does offer an appealing +105, but I am not sure pennies is enough of a superior for me to pull the trigger on laying a half and that run . So, I feel like I am becoming the very top of it and also will back Boston on the money line. Give the Boston Red Sox as road favorites tonight in game one from Colorado at -129 to me!
