Storytime With Harry – The London Experience
I had a terrific time in London being a representative for Odds Shark while providing some material, and working with some men. On Thursday night, I met with Joe Osborne, Andrew Avery, known asNinja, Craig and Alec in the resort and inside an hour or two we were off to the Standard Liege/Arsenal football match.
We tried to grab a drink in a bar nearby, but it wasnt so easy to enter a pub near Arsenals stadium. We found out you werent allowed in the pub, if your seats had been in the place and that the bouncers had to ensure that you had a ticket into the match. WOW!! ?? Despite the fact that we capable to go into, according to the 300lb bouncers, we chose to get into the stadium and have a drink there.
The stadium was amazing, and we had a drink but when the game began, we realized the English do things that abit different than in the United States and Canada. Alcohol wasnt allowed to be absorbed throughout the game, but in halftime in the lounges across the arena were giving out free beer. Yes, you heard me they gave free tap beer that we took advantage of out!?? But the second half started beer wasnt allowed to be drunk inside sales and the scene stopped. The match was won by Arsenal 4-0 and that they scored three??in the first 25 minutes. That was although we had a fun time.
The next day we did a Friday Football edition of Guys&acquaintances in which Joe and myself gave out our locks which just happened to all win (always a fantastic thing) while I was shirtless in 48-degree temperatures just cause I felt like it.
Later that afternoon we took the subway to Oxford Circus which is a beautiful area of London where Big Ben and the jumbo Ferris wheel would be, and a kids carousel where Joe and I chose to be children in mind and rode it just for the hell of it. We got back to the hotel where I think we streamed the major league baseball playoffs so that we can watch the playoffs since it wasnt on at any pub, nor was football — just to let you know.
On Saturdaywe slid into a parlor where you could wager soccer, horses, the lotto and the NFL. Seemingly although I tried to bet a parlay the ticket authors hadnt heard this term before and called it an accumulator. But they couldnt get it correct so for the entire trip I moved wagerless (what would be the odds on that).
Our manufacturer, Craig, was on fire with his football plays although poor Ninja couldnt get blessed with his football plays. Following that, as West Ham and Crystal Palace were enjoying with in the day we moved to a pub to meeting West Ham United fans. We met some characters who were very nice folks and fans.
We came to contact with a superfan named. Subsequently there were a few more fans we chatted and drank , but a woman who was a superfan created the guys day and mine with her spectacular stories that are gambling.
This ladys name is Ruth and she was a riot, to say the least. She had been traveled 6 hours and a season ticket holder to West Ham roundtrip. She then went on to inform me how she likes to wager on the ponies, roulette, blackjack, and her dream football and soccer leagues. I then asked her when she had a bookie and she made a face at me like I asked her dumbest question ever.
Her answer wasof course I do and my nickname isTwat??and his or her isTinkerbell since most of us know bookies do not go by their given names, thats gambling 101. Yesand also to emphasise her nickname was indeedTwat. I had a couple of pints and a ton of laughs — should you just happen to read thisTinkerbell that I only want to say thanks for an excellent afternoon.
Then we went to the scene where we did another show where Joe and I continued to give out winners and West Ham was upset by underdog Crystal Palace. After the match, we needed to stop at the mythical West Ham bar, Carpenters Arms for another pint and hang with all the Hammer lovers that are diehard. We were starving at this point and no place has been available so believe it or even in London on a Saturday night we settled at midnight. That is kind of sad, however, it was our option and it hit on the spot.
Then the culmination of our trip happened as we traveled into Tottenham Stadium to do a different Guys&Bets show before watching the Chicago Bears (Monsters of the Midway)??carry on the (Silver and Black)??Oakland Raiders.
Joe and I gave out the under in the match which we believed we had until the Bears gave up a drive, however we had a burst otherwise and still ended up moving a combined 9-3 ATS for the trip.
The fans in the game were in support of their favorite teams since there were different and jerseys outfits. I also need to give a shoutout to a fan of my All Colors podcast, a man by the name of Jazz who recognized me (somehow??) , called out my name and asked for a picture that was very cool. Jazz gave us a meeting in which he bet with his spirit (as most Bears fans do) rather than his mind and lost money on an adjusted -9.5 lineup on Chicago.
We were fortunate to see a few of the more interesting matches of the afternoon in an setting that is electric and it was a complete joy to share this experience.
Thanks again guys and OddsShark with this chance, where is the next excursion guys?
