Liverpool director Jurgen Klopp played down striker Sadio Mane’s response after being substituted in the 3-0 win then praised his line for assisting the team reach a 13-match winning streak at the Premier League.
The episode between the Senegal international happened in the 85th minute using the Reds 3-0 up. Since Mane walked off he made a gesture and continued to become revived as he sat down, apparently frustrated at fellow forward Mohamed Salah’s decision not to pass to him in the opposition region moments before.
The German supervisor laughed off the incident, and said:”But it is great eh? He was upset, it was clear.
No pre-season for three but they still deliver – so far
“Sadio can’t hide his feelings, I like that. However, all sorted. We spoke about it and everything is fine.
“We’re people, we’re psychological. It was a situation in a game. What else might have happened? It was not a phone call.”
Mane, a fluke goal plus Roberto Firmino helped the Reds keep their 100% start to their Premier League campaign.
The Clarets had fought toe-to-toe with last year’s runners-up before the minute when the apparently intended cross to the far post of Trent Alexander-Arnold brushed the back of Chris Wood and sailed in goal across the mind of their stranded Nick Pope.
Another piece of misfortune occurred soon after the restart. This time Burnley skipper Ben Mee found Reds forward Firmino using a overhaul; he found Mane who fired low previous Pope.
There were few opportunities after the break, when Firmino fired from the edge of the area when he had been teed up by Salah, but Liverpool converted the majority of them.
Klopp said that he was surprised the league leaders had extended their winning series, because not one of his entrance three had a whole pre-season – both Salah and Mane played at the African Cup of Nations, whilst Firmino competed at the Copa America.
“Should you ask me weeks ago I wouldn’t expect it would happen,” said Klopp.
“We experienced a catchy pre-season. No pre-season for your front three but they deliver. Thus far, so great.”
His Reds go into the break with as many points and at exactly the identical place as the corresponding period last season.
Burnley, who have now won just two of the previous 17 matches against Liverpool in most competitions, fall down to 11th at the table.
Too many will begrudge a group including Liverpool the rub of the green again and now.
Up till Wood target neither full-back Alexander-Arnold nor Andy Robertson had much of a chance to strike the flanks, since they were kept occupied by Burnley’s Aaron Lennon along with Dwight McNeil.
On the other hand, the danger posed following the half-hour mark his most recent foray resulted in the blessed opener, and failed to dissuade Alexander-Arnold from pushing in any chance. As his cross legged at the back of the web, the England defender reacted with sheepish enjoyment.
There were, however scenes of celebrations moments afterwards when his angled drive was delivered by Mane .
Both he and fellow forwards Salah and Firmino were limited to scraps from the match, but that they took it when the next chance arose following the split.
This time Egyptian Salah created among his recognizable marauding runs forward to see his progress halted at the edge of the region. On the other hand, the cavalry came in the kind of Firmino, who struck that the third.
Two mistakes in two successive games will tug to a Burnley side which prides itself on creating the resistance work to their win.
It had been the error that contributed to the equaliser of Sunderland in the Carabao Cup midweek conquer of Danny Drinkwater, and against the Reds, skipper Mee suffered a rare stare in the wrong place and against the team.
That was an minutes to the Claretsup before the fluke opener looked good as they sparred against the European champions.
If a photo flashed which Spanish keeper Adrian pushed away, they came near getting an early lead. And Alexander-Arnold prevented Barnes from an fifth of this year when he cut out Aaron Lennon’s ball.
Both first-half goals seemed to knock a few of the wind from Burnley, who neglected to put up much of a fight . Had James Tarkowski abandoned a cross for Mee out of a second-half corner, the priest may have atoned for his earlier mistake. And in the match replacement keeper Adrian denyed Jay Rodriguez – .
Having been competitive in virtually three-and-a-half league matches, Burnley boss Sean Dyche is not likely to be too concerned about a second defeat in a few days.
Liverpool are at home to Newcastle on Saturday, 14 September (12:30 BST) and Burnley are in Brighton the exact same day (15:00 BST).
